Tripoint Lending Advertiser & Lending Disclosure

Tripoint Lending is a free loan-connection service paid by lenders, not borrowers. This disclosure explains how that works and what it means for the offers you see.

Tripoint Lending operates tripointlendings.com, a free service that connects U.S. borrowers with lenders that offer personal loans from $500 to $5,000. We want you to understand exactly how we earn money and how that relationship can and cannot affect your experience. Please read this disclosure before you submit a request.

We Are Not a Lender

Tripoint Lending does not make loans, make credit decisions, or set rates, fees or terms; every loan offer and agreement comes from an independent lender in our network.

We do not act as an agent or broker for any lender or borrower, and we do not endorse any particular lender. Submitting a request does not mean you will be approved, and not every request receives an offer. If you accept an offer, your loan agreement is solely between you and that lender.

How We Are Compensated

Lenders in our network pay Tripoint Lending a fee when we connect them with a borrower, and in some cases when a loan is funded; borrowers never pay us anything.

Compensation amounts vary between lenders and can change over time. This fee is how we keep the service free for the people who use it.

How Compensation May Influence Offers

Compensation from lenders may influence which lenders appear in your results, the order in which offers are shown, and which lenders receive your request first.

Our network does not include every lender or every loan product available in the market, so you may find other options elsewhere. We encourage you to compare any offer you receive with offers from your bank, a credit union, or other sources. Our lender comparison guide outlines published terms from a range of lenders.

What Compensation Never Affects

Lender payments to Tripoint Lending never affect a lender's credit decision, the APR or terms a lender offers you, or the accuracy of our educational guides.

Each lender evaluates your request using its own criteria, such as credit history, income and state rules. Our editorial team writes guides independently, and cost examples are labeled as estimates.

Representative Loan Example

As a representative example, $2,000 borrowed over 12 months at 24.99% APR would cost about $190.08 per month, with about $2,280.94 repaid in total and about $280.94 in interest (estimate).

$2,00012 months24.99%$190.08$2,280.94$280.94

Estimated APRs from lenders in our network typically range from about 6.99% to 35.99%, with terms commonly between 3 and 24 months and some lenders offering up to 36 months. Your actual rate depends on the lender, your credit and your income. See current estimated personal loan rates for more detail.

Fees and Late Payments

Lenders may charge origination fees, late fees or returned-payment fees, and every fee must be disclosed in the loan agreement you review before signing.

Missing a payment may lead to late fees, collection activity and negative reporting to credit bureaus, which can lower your credit score. Some lenders may renew or extend a loan only under the terms of your agreement and applicable law. Read each agreement carefully and contact the lender with questions before you sign.

Credit Inquiries

Checking offers through Tripoint Lending uses a soft credit inquiry that does not affect credit scores, while a lender may run a hard inquiry if you accept an offer.

A hard inquiry may cause a small, temporary drop in your credit score.

State Availability

Loan availability, amounts, rates and terms vary by state, and some lenders in our network do not operate in every state or offer every product.

Residents of certain states may see fewer offers or none at all. Lenders are responsible for following the laws of the states where they lend. To check general requirements, visit our eligibility overview, or email [email protected] with questions about this disclosure.
